The development of classical Mathematical Analysis into several branches of contemporary Analysis has led to many interesting results, both from a theoretical and applied perspective. Established techniques and tools in Analysis as well as new techniques have been combined in a harmonious way to solve many previously unsolved problems. The fundaments of modern mathematics, in general, and Analysis in particular are classical tools and approaches. With this course, we plan to systematically study several classical topics in Analysis. Hence the course is intended for all PhD students, and will encompass several areas in mathematical analysis.

It is well-known that strictly sub-Riemannian manifolds do not satisfy any type of Curvature-Dimension condition CD K,N , introduced by Lott-Sturm-Villani some 15 years ago, so we must follow a different path. We show that while ideal strictly sub-Riemannian manifolds do not satisfy any type of CD condition, they do satisfy a quasi-convex relaxation thereof, which we name QCD Q,K,N. As a consequence, these spaces satisfy numerous functional inequalities with exactly the same quantitative dependence up to a factor of Q as their CD counterparts. We achieve this by extending the localization paradigm to completely general interpolation inequalities, and a one-dimensional comparison of QCD densities with their "CD upper envelope". No prior knowledge will be assumed, and we will hopefully explain all of the above notions during the talk. Title: Rough walks in random environment Abstract.

Convexity Theory and its Applications in Functional Analysis is a five-chapter text that provides a geometric perspective of the convexity theory and its practical applications. Chapter 2 gives the basic duality results, lattice theory and concrete representation theorems for order unit spaces and Banach lattices of type Mand L. Chapters 3 and 4 deal with the real affine function spaces through examining the Choquet simplex and the application of the study of real A K spaces to complex-values function spaces by means of a complex state space. Summary module description: Functional analysis is a vast area of modern mathematics that in its simplest form studies infinite-dimensional linear vector spaces equipped with a given topology. The two main directions are the study of the geometry of the linear space and of the linear operators acting on the space. The types of linear spaces we study are Banach spaces and Hilbert spaces, which are the two most fundamental structures with great importance in other parts of mathematical analysis and its applications.

In recent years there has been a surge of profound new developments in various aspects of analysis whose connecting thread is the use of Banach space methods. Indeed, many problems seemingly far from the classical geometry of Banach spaces have been solved using Banach space techniques. This volume contains papers by participants of the conference "Banach Spaces and their Applications in Analysis", held in May at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in honor of Nigel Kalton's 60th birthday. In addition to research articles contributed by participants, the volume includes invited expository articles by principal speakers of the conference, who are leaders in their areas.
